Despite his unpredictability, or maybe because of it, ODB was someone people tended to gravitate towards, especially members of the press. There was always the feeling that capturing some aspect of his chaotic energy and uniquely singular spirit might afford you a great quotable byline or attain you a tiny fraction of his essence on a transparent strip of light-sensitive plastic.
